Public Forum concerning the Master Plan

Tue, Jun 12, 2012 • Master Plan

Date: Tuesday, June 12, 2012 @ 7 pm
Place: Leo Mintzer Community Center 251 Underhill Avenue West Harrison NY 10604
Agenda: The Town’s consultant Buckhurst Fish & Jacquement (BFJ) will be unveiling the current status of the new Master Plan with a focus on the Platinum Mile, as well as downtown Harrison.

As a blueprint for development decisions several years into the future, the updated Master Plan should reflect the community's vision for the Town. New York State law generally requires planning board approval and a public hearing for new developments. Special variances and permits must be approved and a vote by the Town Board is required. However, a Master Plan delineates zoning for nearly every parcel of land and determines the ground rules for application to the government. In addition, a Master Plan offers a philosophy for economic development and provides a guide for Town Board decisions. As such, it presents a crucial opportunity for public involvement.

Going forward, PEPA  will work to secure advance notice of any future  Master Planning meetings and publicize the dates as schdeuled in advance.
