The Trinity Presbyterian Church is applying for a special exception use permit to build a place of worship on 526 – 530 Anderson Hill Road. On Tuesday evening, the Town’s Planning Board will hold a Scoping Session, a necessary first step in the environmental process for the proposed Church.
Date: Tuesday January 28, 2014
Time: 7:30 pm
Place: Municipal Building, One Heineman Place, Harrison
What is a Scoping Session?
Scoping meetings are a required step in the application process, designed to solicit community comments on issues (environmental, traffic, safety etc.) that should be addressed in the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) report. As such, comments given are noted, while they are not given an immediate response, the issues raised are complied, studied, and then answered in the EIS report. The EIS ultimately dictates how and if the project should be built.
Why this Notice?
Members have contacted the PEPA office with questions about the scoping session. They have also asked to provide reasons why it is important to attend the meeting on Tuesday night.
The Planning Board wants to hear your thoughts, and concerns; as well as local residents first hand experiences. To put a stop to this application communicating with the Planning Board, and policymakers is crucial. We cannot depend on our leaders to automatically defend our best interests or insure the kind of future we want. These policymakers do pay attention, but they need, and want, to know where the public stands on this critical issue. Please keep in mind that the window for public comments is limited.
Please Take Action.
