Your Signature Needed to Protect Residents!

Sun, Mar 23, 2014 • Anderson Hill Road

We need your signature, today, to help protect our community. Purchase residents are battling an ill-conceived application to build a church on Anderson Hill Road near Purchase Street. Now, Manhattanville College is teaming up with Major League Soccer to build a Training Facility and Fields in close proximity.

The cumulative impacts of these proposals could have devastating effects on the tranquility that we now enjoy; it could create traffic and safety hazards, and could severely impact our property values. We want to minimize these negative effects. To do so, PEPA's legal and planning consultants completed last month’s submissions to the Planning Board regarding the Trinity Church application. Currently, PEPA’s legal and environmental planning team are working on submitting our concerns regarding the Manhattanville - Major League Soccer application.

We are working hard to protect the interests of the community and we need your help!

Take Action Today.

Our Action Alert asks you to perform one, two or three actions.

  1. Log on to and sign our online petition. We petition to respectfully, but forcefully, express our concerns to the Planning Board. We hope that each of you will add your signature, especially if you cannot attend the meeting on Tuesday evening (that is only a few days away).
  2. Please keep this petition moving along to friends, neighbors and family. Its growing impact is important to our success.
  3. Attend the Tuesday, March 25th 2014 Planning Board meeting at 7:30 PM at the Alfred Sulla Municipal Building One Heinemann Place Harrison, NY.

The Town of Harrison's Comprehensive Plan (section 1.2.5 and 6.1.5) states "Harrison will seek cooperation between the colleges and the Town/Village to protect the interest of residents." Our petition asks the Town/Village of Harrison to protect the residents by requesting the applicant to perform an appropriate, thorough environmental review (i.e. Full EAF). Further, we ask the Board to place specific conditions on the application that that prohibits MLS games/scrimmages and/or tournaments that bring in large numbers of spectators and press/media.

We are hopeful the Planning Board agrees, but your signature is needed to express collective concern. Please log in by clicking on the link above (see #1) to read and sign the full petition.

Thank you for your consideration. With your support, we are protecting our community and environment!
